Maran Dam

This colossal construction is obviously dwarf-work. Huge blocks of stone streatch from one mountain cliff to the other, and the walls of the dam are decorated with huge bearded faces nearly four stories tall.

Once, this dam held back the waters of Lake Mara, provding protection and irrigation to the fertile fields below. The dam was damaged when an earthquake shifted the mountains, and a lack of maintenance caused a huge gap in the center to crumble away a few years later, essentially destroying the dam and causing the destruction of the cliff city, Khaz Barduk.
